From the President’s Console: February 1999

What an interesting way to spend Valentine’s day!

This past Valentines day weekend we hosted our first ever INFOGROUP users meeting in conjunction with the NWSA Spring Management Conference in Chicago.  And what a grand old time we had.

And earlier in the month we participated in the official ground breaking ceremony for our new building.  Our builder, the local mayor, various other politicians and newspaper reporters turned out for the event.  The project is by now well under way with the site work being complete and the foundation poured.  And, we’re still on target for a late summer move.  We hope to have pictures for you in an upcoming edition of this newsletter, so stay tuned.

Research and development continues unabated here as we’ve begun testing our first 450 megahertz Pentium-II/XEON dual processor motherboard/cpu.  Seems to be working fine, though some of the boards/chips are so big we’ll have to physically alter the computer case with tin snips to make it fit!  This board will further push out the top end of the size of installation our systems can handle.  Our largest installation to date now has more than 100 ports on their system with no end to the growth in sight!

On the low end, we’ve also upped the speed and lowered the price on our PC/Workstation.  We’re now offering a 333 mHz Pentium-II/Celeron workstation with 6.4GB hard drive at a price lower than we’ve ever offered a PC for before.  Judging by the reaction of attendees to our INFOGROUP meeting, we’ll be moving an awful lot of these out the door in the next few months.  Get on the PC/Workstation & Internet bandwagon now by giving one of us here at INFONETICS a call right away.

Lots of new customers to welcome this month. I’d like to welcome Mike, Janet, Scott, Robert, Alan and the gang at Oxygen Services in Dallas, TX;  Jim at Southern Welding & Industrial Supply in Knoxville, TN; and Bryan and Becky at Cedar Rapids Welding Supply in Cedar Rapids, IA as new customers.  Glad to have you on board.
